Bowmen of St Mary’s are a Target Archery Club for Recurve, Compound, Barebow and Traditional Longbow.

Located at The Academy on Cranbrook Avenue, Hull, the club shoots all year round, using the large playing field for their outdoor shooting during the summer months April – September and the indoor hall for winter shooting October - April, with coaching and equipment set-up also being catered for all year round.

New members are welcomed and given the chance to try archery on one of our four taster sessions held in May each year followed by our archery lesson’s.

Archery can be challenging and rewarding whilst being fun and social, whatever your age you’re never too old to gain the mental and physical rewards, archers are encouraged to enjoy their shooting whether it be for fun or practicing for upcoming competitions, possibly even wining a few medals and trophies along the way.

The Club is affiliated to:

Archery GB (AGB) the governing body of the sport within the U.K. They provide an administrative function and cover clubs and archers with insurance.

The Northern Counties Archery Society (NCAS), which covers Yorkshire, Durham and Northumberland, Cumbria, Lancashire and Cheshire and represents our region on AGB Committees. The NCAS organises competitions in various archery disciplines.

The Yorkshire Archery Association (YAA), governs the sport within Yorkshire. It has a Committee made up of members from clubs within the region. YAA organises several competitions within the Yorkshire region each year.
